Have you ever wondered why we play in a white shirt with blue/red/blue strips across the front?

Well, according to a fascinating conversation that I had in The Lamb recently it's because our club is the result of a merger between Berkhamsted Hockey Club and Hemel Hempstead Ladies Hockey Club. The men used to play in red shirts with blue trim while the ladies played in white shirts with green trim. When the clubs merged there was great debate (for over a year!) regarding the colour of the new club's kit. The upshot of all that was the kit that we see today which includes elements from both clubs.

Now, can anyone tell me the year that we merged?
