A hard fought game at a wet Potters Bar today.
They had some fast skilful players and a well rehearsed short corner routine seeing them take the lead.
I must admit it was a lucky 2nd goal.
2-0 at half time.
After a knowledgable talk from supporter Ed Goodwin, it seemed to heighten our spirits and we tried to turn the game around with some strong forward play.
With true commitment and grit from the defensive players and some wonderful saves from our sticky Vicky, getting herself in all sorts of positions (ooh er Swampy) she saved the team in the 2nd half and quite rightly got Woman of the match.
Some hard work was put in from Tash and Ali on the forward line nearly saw us with a goal.
Emma used her cricket skills to stop the ball and played keep me ups to help clear the ball out of our D. Thought I was playing cricket at one point!
Ann soldiered on after getting a ball to the ribs with a thud.
With some of the team feeling unwell with illness we hope for a well earned win next week.
The sleepover the night before did not bring us any luck, however the traditional teas after the game sorted out the hangovers and warmed us up.
A message for the ‘3s’ “teas were delicious”
