Berkhamsted 4th XI gained a deserved 3-0 win against St Albans following a superb team effort. The opening period saw both teams have good chances with Berko keeper Brett Kelly in good form keeping St Albans out.

Then from a Berko short corner the ball fell to Iwan Roberts whose shot hit a foot on the line and a penalty flick was awarded. Duncan Hodges stepped forward and despatched the flick into the corner of the net, 1-0 to Berko. The half ended 1-0 thanks to some excellent defending from Mike Whitaker and Paul Krafft.
The second half was very competitive as the Berko midfield of Simon Webb, Will Hodges and Richard Korn fought hard to get control of the game. Both teams had good chances but the match was turned Berko’s way following a brilliant second team goal. Jon Below drove the ball out of defence who fed Will Hodges, he passed inside to Simon Webb who slipped Toby Payton through. Toby casually drove into the D and flicked the ball into the back of the net, a goal even his watching father (Roger) would be proud of. Berko at 2-0 up now took control of the game with some great touches from Freddie Webb. The third and final goal for Berko came after Brian De Mattos fed Toby Payton who squared the ball to Louis Hanwell who expertly smashed the ball into the back of the net. A first senior league goal for Louis and thoroughly deserved.
