There was good news and bad news surrounding our visit to Shefford & Sandy.

Good news: We scored 2 goals. Bad news: They scored 7
Yet again for the 3s this season, this doesn’t really tell the story of the day. We played some good hockey for periods of the game, but then there were periods when they got away from us – scoring it seems each time they entered the D. Mention must be made of Ben’s lovely strike from one of our short corners that buried itself in the backboard and Ed’s goal – a reverse flick, no less – about which we heard quite a bit on the car journey back to Berko. It was 2-5 at half time and could really have been closer still – the chances were coming.
Larry's presence really helped our distribution and ability to move the ball faster up the pitch. The halves put in a shift, but the opposition’s fast young players always seemed to find space from which to cause us problems. Toby and Louis also worked hard up front, but when they did get the ball there were few options to hand.
Thanks must go specially to Terry who kindly stepped in to play in goal for us – I am not sure he was expecting to be quite so busy, but he made some great saves along the way..
The team worked hard together and we look forward to getting the just reward for our performances soon.
