The Great Escape
After a long, cold and wet season the team were greeted to an uncharacteristically warm & sunny Tring astro for the crunch match against West Herts 5s.

This must win fixture was teed-up following a resounding win against St Albans last week, but nothing could be taken for granted against an already relegated West Herts team.
We got off to a shaky start, giving possession away and conceding a number of free hits, but eventually the game began to flow and so did the goals. Two conversions from short corners by Gainer, an excellent solo effort by Moorhouse and a sneaky shot which eluded the West Herts keeper by Redman were interspersed with two goals from short corners and one very nicely taken open play goal by West Herts.
The game was littered with mistakes by both teams (not to mention a flurry of green cards) and couldn’t have been pretty to spectate from the side-lines, but at the final whistle the all important win was achieved by a rather stressful margin of 4-3.
Man of the match went to Page for his superb defensive efforts.
As another dramatic season closes on the M3 team, we find ourselves once again victorious in the relegation battle and stay-up in Div 5SW.
