We had been allocated the graveyard shift  this week, a 4:30 start in Letchworth. As we arrived the sun was setting spectacularly colourfully and the temperature dropping accordingly. Though this week were buoyed by having two (yes two!) substitutes.

Still struggling to work out how we lost this game against a pretty ordinary Hertford 2s!
The early exchanges were even, both sides sizing each other up and neither really threatening.

An early start meant a welcome return of Jamie Holderness being used as sweeper, his reach and style was excellent and once all those leaves were off the pitch, he retook his seat in the stands to cheer on Berkhamsteds elite.

Berkhamsted 4th XI gained a deserved 3-0 win against St Albans following a superb team effort. The opening period saw both teams have good chances with Berko keeper Brett Kelly in good form keeping St Albans out.

With Stevenage kindly waiting for us to achieve our full compliment of 11, we decided it would be nice to let them have much of the early play.
