The long drive, chilly start and light rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the Men’s 3 as they took to the pitch against promotion contenders, Shefford & Sandy 2s, with a lively opening to the game.

The Men’s 3s turned out this Saturday determined to  face what they knew would be yet another tough game, this time at home (hurrah!) in the rain (boo!) against a lively Letchworth team.

We soaked up early pressure from a hard-hitting Bedford attack and began to look increasingly dangerous ourselves due to the tireless running of Jon, Louis and Toby up front.

Berkhamsted took the field for the second round of the Vase full of confidence, both from the weekend's results and from the fact that we beat our opponents Phoenix and Ranelagh last time we played them a couple of years ago in the same competition.

Berko were a point behind their opponents before the game, and had lost narrowly to Broxbourne 2’s earlier in the season, so were expecting a tight match against their 3’s. There were several new faces and some shuffling around of positions.
