Berkhamsted completed their league season with a visit to Stevenage. The match start was delayed and this enabled Berkhamsted to practise short corners and this seemed to have an immediate effect as Berkhamsted won their first short corner in the second minute and Jon Peplow scored.
Berkhamsted were having most of the play and won more short corners but were unable to repeat their earlier success and gradually Stevenage got back into the match. Failing to clear their lines properly led to Stevenage being awarded a short corner and Berkhamsted found that the handicap of only having a kicking back rather than a goalkeeper counted against them as Stevenage equalised. A few minutes before half-time an almost identical situation saw Stevenage take the lead. The second half was completely one-way traffic with the Berkhamsted defenders being virtually redundant unless they were venturing forward into the attack. However, despite all this pressure Berkhamsted were unable to convert the chances they created. Gerry Montague came up from the back to try to show the forwards the way and although his effort led to a short corner, this was again wasted. Time finally ran out to leave Berkhamsted with a disappointing end to what had been a good season with the final league position of 4th or 5th out of 10 depending on results of re-arranged games.
 Result  Stevenage 2 Berkhamsted 1
