Berkhamsted played out a hard-fought goalless draw against Farnham Common Wrinklies. Berkhamsted had only 10 men and were penned back into their own half for much of the early play,
but with centre backs Pete Kuipers and Ian Odell in fine form, Wrinklies actually created few chances although a couple of dangerous crosses were missed by everyone. Berkhamsted were much more on top in the second half and created the better chances, the best of which was created by young Matt Buckley who then hit an excellent reverse stick shot that flew just wide of the post. However, in a rare attack, Wrinklies won a disputed short corner from which they won a penalty flick as the ball struck a foot on the line. Dave Hargreaves then crowned an excellent performance by saving the penalty and going on to keep the first clean sheet of his new goalkeeping career.
