West Herts 6th XI 0 Berkhamsted 3rd XI 1
Berkhamsted returned to league action at Watford against West Herts. In a tight opening half neither side created any clear cut openings and many attacks foundered on good defence or misplaced passes.
In the second half Berkhamsted upped the tempo and seemed to be camped in the West Herts ‘25’ for long periods. However good goalkeeping and an element of luck kept the sheet clean. Finally, following a short corner Andy Bustin followed up to score not only the winner, but his first ever goal in club hockey. West Herts, whilst not creating much in open play, did win a number of short corners and were quite proficient in their execution requiring Phil Fido to make a few excellent saves to maintain the lead.
Scorer: Andy Bustin |
