Berkhamsted 2xi 5 Bishop's Stortford 5xi 7

A dazed Berkhamsted left the field after a thrilling end to end goal fest of a match.

Playing with only ten men due to last minute injuries and a trainee keeper following the loss of the regular man Berkhamsted stood up to the plate and went out with a purpose. Determined not to roll over and die we played with a packed midfield to slow up the waves of 'Stortford attacks. They exploited their extra man well and soon had their first goal. "My foot got stuck" said novice keeper Hart as he stood by and watched the opener trickle into the net.

What followed was an unprecedented display of end to end action and many goals for each team. 'Stortford's second came from a penalty flick resulting from solid defencive work by Dubenski's shin pads on the line. After this your correspondent lost track of who was doing what but suffice to say that Berko were unlucky to come away without the points. That eleventh man might have made all the difference.

Still, on the plus side we notched up five goals so we know we can do it and will try to repeat that experience whilst shoring up the defence to turn the experience into more victories in the future.
