For the second week running, Berkhamsted 3rd XI found the icy conditions not to their liking and they found a young Harpenden side too hot.

Harpenden were well marshalled by their 3 senior players and this allowed their youngsters to play with some skill. Berkhamsted defended well and restricted Harpenden to a one goal lead at the break and indeed managed to win a couple of short corners on the break, but failed to convert them. Harpenden continued to press in the second half, but Berkhamsted defended well until a shot on goal was stopped on the line by a foot by Peter Kuipers and a penalty was awarded. Terry Wintle got to the shot but could not quite keep it out. Harpenden then went on to wrap up the game with two further goals and Berkhamsted’s best memory of the game will be the welcoming warm showers and fine food supplied by Harpenden after the match.
