This game was played in unusually fine weather for November and both sides made bright starts without creating many chances. Berkhamsted took the lead when Brian de Mattos collected a pass from Tim Buckley at a short corner
and squeezed his shot between the keeper and the post. AS the half continued there were half chances at either end but no further scoring. Southgate Adelaide mounted a very concerted attack in the second half and only good goalkeeping from Phil Fido kept them at bay. However, Berkhamsted looked dangerous on the break and in one such attack Ben Glynn and Jules hollows combined to move the ball from one end of the pitch to the other finishing with Jules Hollows placing his shot just wide of the keeper for Berkhamsted’s second. Southgate Adelaide continued to press but just could not find a way past a resolute defence.
