Berkhamsted 2xi 4 Harpenden 3xi 2 After a baffling run of defeats Berkhamsted finally came up trumps with a well earned win against third placed Harpenden.
Showing a return to the form that they have kept well hidden all season Berkhamsted rallied after two easy Harpenden goals. Great effort was made by all team members. Seymour made an excellent return from long term injury to breathe new life into the forward line. He introduced imaginative play and excellent distribution to set up several of the goals. North, up from the 3xi, showed that he could hold his own in this company, troubling the Harpenden attacks with some solid defencive work. Another returning absentee, Abrams brought some insightful observations and tactics which led to the third goal for Berko. The icing on the cake was a suicidal pass by Harpenden across their own goal mouth and direct to Payton who hammered home his third goal and Berkhamsted's fourth between the keeper's legs. A resounding success for all involved and, hopefully, a sign of greater things to come. |
