Broxbourne – 3, Berkhamsted – 1

Berkhamsted 1sts set out for Broxbourne this week with the hope of ending their run of losses from the previous few matches. But yet again, the team hit the self-destruct button early in the match and conceded two quick goals.

Berkhamsted couldn’t find the momentum they needed to pull themselves back in the first half, and remained goalless at the end of the 35 minutes, despite a couple of excellent reaction saves from the Broxbourne goalkeeper.
In the second half, Berkhamsted played much more convincing hockey, and hope was restored when Jack Peplow fired one into the bottom corner. The pressure continued to mount on Broxbourne as Berkhamsted repeatedly entered their danger zone with numerous attacks. However, Berkhamsted’s dominance did not prove fruitful, and frustration grew, as questionable decisions seemed to be made in favour of Broxbourne. With only ten minutes to go, Berkhamsted undeservedly conceded a third.
