Result BA 2 Berkhamsted 5th 0, lumps of turf 1. Rust showed this Saturday, particularly on John Baxter's spade. Mike Herring needs to consider his roll at the club, as John dug up more turf in the opposition D whilst missing our best chance.
In fact the turf went further than the ball. "That's why I play in defence" he proudly told the team in the bar afterwards. But even if we were introduced to new methods of fouling, the two men kicking the ball and tripping the opponent move. which caused umpiring confusion over third party, it was great to be back on the pitch again and playing a good game of hockey. Both sides had so many players that it was difficult to know who was on the pitch and who was not. In the confusion BA scored two goals to which there was no reply from Berkhamsted.
