The continuation of the inclement British summer wasn't enough to faze
the 18 hardy souls that turned up to kick off the 2008-2009 Berko hockey
season. Club members representing each team in the Club, both Mens and
ladies, braved the driving rain to take part in the first organised
warm-up game at Tring astro on Saturday. 

A fun game, with no-one really
keeping scores, was the order of the day as people dusted off their
sticks and put their summer training regime to the test...some left
wishing that their summer training regime actually involved some
'training'...

It was really encouraging to see involvement from all aspects of the
Club - there were even some spectators! - even more so to see the
majority of those people come back to the Clubhouse for a couple of
hours and stick some money behind the bar.

Lets hope we build upon for the coming weeks with the remaining friendly
games and give the hockey club, YOUR hockey club, the support and
dedication it deserves!

The next games are this Saturday, the 13th of September...there is a
Ladies 1sts friendly game vs Tring, starting at Tring astro at 10.45,
with teas and drinks back at Berko Clubhouse. 

The Mens are also in action, with a friendly game amongst themselves,
starting at 15.15 at Tring Astro. Please let Charlie Michie know if you
can make it.
