QUADRUPLE HATTRICK FOR BERKO LADIES SECONDS TO WIN 14-0!!

 

The outstanding result of an outstanding day for Berkhamsted came from the ladies 2s. With a certain shortage of defensive players we decided that the best course of action was all out attack - and didn't it work well! 

Just five minutes in to the game Poppy LLoyd glided down the left wing, wiggled round the defence and neatly slotted our first goal in. Shortly afterwards, Berko were in the attacking circle again with Anna Macklin driving in from left half ending with our second goal. With two goals up, the Berko team continued to press ahead and at half time were leading by 7 goals. The second half was again dominated by the Berko ladies and despite a sudden break from the Stevenage forwards which our temporary goalie, Jo Fisher managed to clear off the line, we finished at 14-0! Hattricks from Poppy Lloyd, Anna Macklin, Lucy Wicks and Paula Wilson and two goals for Kate Hedge. Player of the match was awarded to Development player Claudia Jones who played a confident and competitive right half throughout the game.
