| BHHHC Tigers Hockey Academy |
Welcome to the section of the BHHHC website dedicated to the new BHHHC Tigers Hockey Academy. The academy launches 24 January 2010 The Academy has very simple aims…to provide first class hockey coaching for children in the local area and to provide a friendly, safe and fun club environment for them to continue that hockey development as they get older.
BHHHC has managed to get GB hockey legends John Shaw and Soma Singh on board to help develop and support the programme, and we will be working closely with them to ensure that we offer the most up to date and efficient coaching methods to get the best out of our students.
We aim to offer a low student to coach ratio of no more than ten children to every one coach in order to be able to tailor the coaching specifically to each group. In order to provide a premium programme, numbers are strictly limited to 25 children aged 9-11 years old and 25 children aged 12-16.
The Academy will launch on Sunday 24th January 2010 from 10.00 - 12.00, and then will run every Sunday from 10.00 - 11.30 (excluding the Feb 21st half term one) until Sunday 21st March. The all inclusive cost for this is just £50 per child.
All coaching will take place at the Castle Campus Astro pitch, Berkhamsted School, Mill Street, Berkhamsted, HP4 2BB. This is right in the middle of Berkhamsted by the canal behind Tesco car park. The following link takes you to Google maps with the pitch and car park clearly visible.

The England Mens team, who have just won the European Championships, are genuine contenders for the 2012 Olympics. Further success, and a higher level of television coverage, will raise hockey's profile and increase the opportunities that are available to young hockey players. If your child becomes a BHHHC Tiger, as well as receiving top level coaching now, he or she will be able to take advantage of the enthusiasm that increased publicity will bring. 2012 may be too soon, but we would love to have a BHHHC Tiger taking part in a future Olympics!
Even before the official announcement of the first Academy, we have received a great deal of interest, so we would advise that applications are sent in as soon as possible! If you would like your child to be become a BHHHC Tiger Please download the registration form, complete all the details and send back, with a cheque for £50 payable to 'BHHHC', to Nick Cave, Secretary BHHHC, 47 Albert Street, Tring.
If you have any specific questions, you can contact Simon Kaye or Nick Cave
