I am very pleased to be the boys u12 BHHHC team manager. The u12 team consist of boys up to the age of 12 as at 1st September 2020. We aim for maximum fun and creating a great team spirit. Hockey is a team game and it is this element that often appeals to new players and leads to great friendships within the team. At this age, we focus on learning the rules of the game, understanding positions whilst still focussing on individual skills and fitness.
We train on Monday evenings and Sunday mornings. We take part in the Chiltern League and the In2Herts Tournaments. Our league tournaments take place once a month, consisting of 3-4 games per tournament and we travel up to an hour away.
What I love most about being a youth coach, is seeing our young players having fun, making new friends and discovering a team sport that they love.
Last year we had a brilliant squad of boys, most that I hope will return (age permitting) and we moved up from Division 5 to Division 3 so our goal this year is to reach the heady heights of Division 2 or even Division 1!
