~In goes the shelving...here come the keeper kits

My hand hurts
- Me

On a splendid hot sunny Saturday afternoon five brave souls decided to stand in some metal boxes and periodically cuss the designers of “tool free” shelving units. Well, we didn’t all cuss, but I was certainly muttering under my breath. Bring back Dexion, I say. Many thanks to Paul, Simon, Oscar, Sophie and me(!).

This was the storage container rethink advance party, tasked with assembling shelves in our marvellous new shipping containers, beside the marvellous new TigerTurf. Tab A rarely wanted to be placed into slot A and after a certain amount of experimentation I discovered that a hammer was far more effective at re-educating it than was my hand. A bit of Astro offcut wrestling was added to the programme of events, along with carrying goalkeeper kit from old containers to the new ones. Then back again and then back again, in some cases. Meanwhile Charlie and Jo were busy counting all the goalkeeper kit into, out of and back into goalkeeper bags so that it could all be safely stored by the pitch. It’s a fun job that just keeps going, so well done and more thanks due there.

The new ramps for the Dubenski TigerTurf Brushing Device turned out to be designed for Tonka toys rather than real world devices and buckled under the pressure. Perhaps it was the heat, or maybe they were just setting an example for the shelving units to follow. Fortunately, the aforementioned Dubenski TigerTurf Brushing Device was small enough to be picked up and argued with so it ended up in the right place and we will no doubt soon see the patented Dubenski TigerTurf Brushing Device Ramp in the near future.

Hot on the heels of all this came the soon to be patented Dubenski Miscellaneous Training Equipment Portage Devices. Not yet assembled (it was an even hotter day and they arrived just after an intense walking hockey session), we eagerly await their debut. I am just trying to figure out how to mime “these are not dog portage devices” to Eskie.

So, shelving is in, and keeper kit is there too. We will soon have all the other junk, er, I mean valuable items, from the old container inside the new container, neatly perched upon some fantastic new shelves upon which I suggest that you do not practice rock climbing. I put them up, so go carefully.
