A selection of photos are now in from our Open Day, and give us a reminder of what a brilliant way to kick off the season it was — made all the more special by a guest appearance from England and GB player, David Goodfield.
Hockey enthusiasts of all ages benefited from David’s time and experience. He coached our younger members with energy and encouragement, and was equally happy hanging out with our walking hockey squad. Even with a broken thumb, he showcased impressive skills and shared valuable insights.
David also spoke about his own development as a youth player, reflecting on how his journey began at a small, family-orientated club much like BHHHC. A great reminder to our budding GB stars — your path could start right here.
The sun shone, the club BBQ made a welcome return, and the afternoon mixed tournament brought plenty of fun (and a few challenges in the heat!). The bar provided some very welcome refreshment to end the day.
We were thrilled to welcome several new players trying out for the first time or returning after a break— we hope to see many of them back for more.
A big thank you to the amazing team of volunteers for making the day possible.
