Berkhamsted 3s had a strong game against Witney 4 and managed to win 6–2 after a very good team performance.

The Threes got off to a good start with Kyle scoring the first goal in open play. The second came a while later and it was an amazing strike from Roger off a short corner making it 2–0. Our defence was strong and we were on the front foot spending lots of time in their half.

Not long after Ali took a shot which was going off target but luckily it deflected off one of their defender’s feet and went into the goal making it 3–0. Things were looking good for Berkhamsted. Then Matt scored an absolute banger into the top left corner after gliding through the defence making it 4–0. Not long after Witney bounced back and got a short corner and scored just before the end of the first half making it 4–1 at half time.

In the second half it stayed fairly stable with some great chances from both sides. At one point Matt made a good break and played an amazing cross to Owen who unfortunately smacked it right of the goal post earning him DoD and match report writing duties,.

Keen to redeem himself, Owen hussled down the right wing forcing a short corner off the feet, Kyle's drag flick blocked by the keeper, with a rebound to Ed, swift pass for a back post tap in from Owen. Phew! 5–1.

Witney responded, forcing and converting a short corner making it 5–2. Time was ticking and Witney were still pushing but so were we. Yet another short corner at the Witney end, Roger took the strike but alas the goalkeeper saved it. Ali sneaked a deflection to clock his second, much to Roger's dismay (arguably it was going in anyway).

There were some strong individual performances in the midfield, Teddy was excellent in defence throughout with several important tackles earning him Man of the Match. Tom A played very assertively in attack and created good pressure, although he was unfortunately not able to convert his chances into a goal.

With the score now 6–2 there was not long left and all we had to do was wait for the final whistle. Overall it was a very strong performance from the Berkhamsted 3s with some great goals and good defending throughout the game.
