Seemingly Incredible Women's 4s V Stevenage

Supporting our bros!

Seemingly impossible ...??!?

Through the fog and the rain our warm up was led by Sergeant Hyde, sparking the team into action. The match began, with excited cheering from the starting three subs, who were mostly excited because they hadn't run yet. We came into an early lead after a brilliant goal from Jess in the first ten minutes, entering between the posts at a 'seemingly impossible' angle. We commanded the game for most of the first half, with a series of four successfully defended defensive short corners and a 'seemingly impossible' high save from Sam, (particularly for one so small). Unfortunately, we went on to concede two goals in quick succession before the whistle blew for half time. Spirits were still high and the defence (Hayley, Katie V, Katy H, Sophie and Katie A) were delighted to not receive a b****cking from Sophie, and we all entered the second half with high hopes for a win. Jo B, Tabitha and Katy H began the second half with lots of cheering and chanting. After fifteen ferocious minutes, our amazing attackers (Anna, Jo B, Kate H and Maddie) got the ball in the D and Maddie scored a wonderful equaliser, filling all of our players with hope of a win. Unfortunately, we must admit they scored again, although Kate Hedge still refuses to accept this. Around this time Sam had a fantastic gymnastic split-jump save, which would have looked 'seemingly incredible' in the Strictly ballroom. For the last fifteen minutes we were relentless in our attack, ending the game with ten of our players taking part in a nail-biting short corner, which we were unlucky not to receive a p-flick in, and our subs were cheering so loudly that their voices echoed around the pitch. At teas the 4's chose to support the mens section and movember by adorning their faces with furry stick on moustaches, with our captain Jo showing a 'seemingly impossible' likeness to Inspector Clouseau.
Player of the match went to Katy H for her 'seemingly impossible' daring and brave running 1 in short corners, and the old birds in the fun bus home said she was really quite feisty.
Votes went to Sam, Jess and Katie V. An undeserved 3-2 loss, well done ladies!
