We had 11 players today for 7- aside we decided not to have a goalie and instead set ourselves up with a strong defence. Our first game was against Harpenden, our attackers quickly worked out how to beat their defence and strong teamwork lead to Isla J scoring! With Edie, Iris and Tabitha working closely in the midfield and Lauren in deep defence, we stopped any goals going in. Ellie was making smart use of the space on the wing so Lauren could pass up the side. Game ended 1-0 to BHHHC despite the low summer sun being in the teams eyes!

A second game was against Letchworth, with Josie, Lily and Annabel playing midfield and Jess in the deep defence. Edie, Lauren and Tabitha worked well to attack with Lauren scoring first goal of the game even though they had a goalie. The game then started to move into our side of the pitch with our newer players in the midfield and defence working hard to to keep Letchworth at bay. As they pushed us up to the middle, they took the opportunity to get past a defence and score. The team quickly regrouped and had another of couple of goes at goal. However, the next goal was scored by Letchworth after valiant effort by Annabelle to stop it going in the low sun in our eyes and a slip over meant it slipped past. Game ended 2-1 to Letchworth.

We went straight into our next and final game against the hosts, Bluehearts and moved back into our starting formation. Lauren was being worked hard at the back, making some cracking blocks, turns and passes with Iris moving them
back upfield. Isla, Edie, Emily and Tabitha worked hard in mid and attacked Bluehearts. Edie scored twice but they were from too far out to be allowed but it shows they could get past their defence. With a super assist from Annabelle, Emily scored. A fast end to end game that ended 1-0 to us.

Overall a fun morning with the more experienced girls supporting and encouraging the newer players. Great team spirit and hunger to play for the win !! Well done and thanks parents for coming along and supporting.
