Despite the identical scoreline to the game a couple of weeks ago, this was a much closer match. Our first goal came from a tap-in by Swampy playing in an unaccustomed midfield role and managing to get in the right place at the right time to capitalise on Ollie's good work in the D. Our second goal came after the Pistons' keeper saved a short corner strike. The ball rebounded to James, who after a short pause to wind up his shoulders and to allow Ollie to get out of the way, whacked the ball back past the keeper. Our third goal also came at a short corner through a straight strike from Pete.
The pivotal moment in the game came in the second half ten minutes or so from the end, when we were awarded a penalty stroke. Matt confidently strode up from the back to take it. He got good power and height on his flick, but unfortunately it sailed past the outside of the keeper's right-hand post. Shortly afterwards, the Pistons scored their fifth and that unfortunately was that.
