The final score was 2-1 to us with man of match Ed Holderness getting the first goal. James Baron got the second despite trying very hard not to. It could have been more as Oli Bowman saved one off the line, stopping the ball going into the corner of the goal from a Roger Payton short corner strike. Oli and Roger also both ‘squandered’ far post and front of goal tap ins! Roger's ‘pass’ from Ed was knee high and 100 miles an hour and he didn’t see it. Oli’s miss was from a Pete Allam crash ball that was going about 200 miles an hour and was heard before it was seen! We also had a Roger short corner goal disallowed that hit the back board after the keeper got a fingertip to it. There were notable performances from Kieran Baxter, Hugo Graham, Pete Walker and Paul Krafft. Solid from everyone else. Doobi umpired well, purchased the beer and provided the tabular entertainment.
