4. Match Day Info

On match day, players usually arrive in their kit, ready to play.

Home kit is white top, blue shorts or skort, and blue and red striped socks.

Away Kit is red top, blue shorts or skort, and plain white football-style socks.

Unless there’s a colour clash, the home kit is worn regardless of location. Captains will inform you if a switch to the away kit is needed—if you don’t have a red top, one can usually be borrowed. Kit can be ordered from Chiltern Sports, our club supplier.

Don’t forget to bring water.

Communication
Last-minute changes (like frozen pitches) are shared via your team’s WhatsApp group or sometimes via Pitchero. Your captain will invite you to join. If you're under 16 playing in an adult team, a parent or guardian can join the group on your behalf. If your availability changes or you're running late, please message your captain as soon as possible so they can adjust plans.

After the match
Remember to thank the umpires as without them the games can’t take place. We give ‘3 cheers’ to the opposition, led by the captain and thank individual opposition players.

Going back to the club house for post-match ‘teas’ is a core part of hockey culture. This is the time for teams to choose their player of the match and it’s an easy way to get to know your team mates.

If you would like food please let the captain know before Thursday. If you don’t want to eat, just come back for a drink and a chat.
