6. Risk Statement

Padel is a dynamic racket sport involving running, rapid changes of direction,
close-proximity play, and impact from balls and rackets.

As with all physical sports, there is an inherent risk of accidental injury.

These may include (but are not limited to):

  • Slips, trips or falls
  • Impact from balls or rackets
  • Collision with court structures or other players
  • Muscular strains or joint injuries

Berko Padel takes reasonable steps to maintain the facilities in accordance with manufacturer guidance and applicable safety standards.

Courts are inspected regularly and may be closed in unsafe conditions.

The glazed panels form part of the playing surface and are specified for ball impact during normal play only. They are not designed to withstand uncontrolled, excessive, reckless or deliberate bodily impact. Participants are required to exercise reasonable care and remain in control at all times. Any damage arising from conduct outside the bounds of normal play, including negligence or reckless behaviour, may give rise to personal liability.

However, all participation is voluntary and all players acknowledge that:

  • Padel involves inherent risks that cannot be eliminated completely.
  • Players are responsible for wearing appropriate footwear and equipment.
  • Players are expected to exercise awareness and reasonable care during play.

By entering the courts, players accept these inherent risks as part of the sport.
